This week Bright Sparks were visited by the C.S.I.R.O. We went to the hall to learn all about simple machines. The science teacher’s name was Jean. In the lesson we used Lego bits & pieces to make some simple machines. We made handles that can spin two wheels at a time. We also made a carousel with lots off pieces. When we turned the carousels some of the little pieces kept falling off. When some of the groups were finished they got to make other types of things with the Lego. Bright Sparks love science with the C.S.I.R.O. Saja said, “This science stuff is the coolest”.

We are creating a wiki page all about simple machines. Click on the link in our blogroll “Bright Sparks Wiki” to find out how much we know about simple machines. The page will be added to every week, so don’t forget to keep coming back to take a look.

Hi Bright Sparks,

Thanks for the info on Tuesday, it really helped. Our science person was called Fiona. We got into pairs and could choose if we wanted to make a carousel or a turnstile. I went with Lilly and we made a carousel and then a turnstile. I hope they come back soon
