Location
Earth is located between Venus and Mars. It is the third planet from the sun.
Size
Earth is 12, 765km in diameter. It is the 5th largest planet in our solar system.
Density and Atmosphere
Earth has a core that is mostly made up of iron. On top of the core is molten rock. Surrounding Earth’s solid surface are layers of atmosphere which are made up of many gases.
Temperature
The Earth’s temperature varies from very cold at either ends of the north and south poles to very warm at the equator. The surface can be dry, wet, hot, cold or humid
Time
The Earth orbits the sun 365 days. This makes one Earth year 365 days long.
Moons
Earth has one moon, called Luna. Earth is the only planet that has a solar eclipse when the moon passes over the sun.
